In the culinary world of the USSR, "Napoleon" was the most famous dessert. Its first version was different from the recipe that later became widespread, and there are many interesting opinions about the cake. The initial version of the story regarding the creation of the cake is intriguing, but it is highly likely that it is far from the truth.
Emperor's wife, Josephine, caught him flirting with one of the ladies at court. Napoleon was too close to the face of the young lady. To dispel her suspicions, Napoleon told her that some time ago he had come up with a delicious cake recipe, which is what he was discussing with that lady. Marshal Davout, who witnessed this scene, shared the story with the chef who prepared the dessert for dinner, leaving everyone captivated
1. Margarine – 500g
2. Flour – 2kg
3. Vodka – 40g
4. Vinegar – 40g
5. Water – 2 liters
6. Sugar– 400g
7. Butter – 400g
8. Salt – 10g
9. Vanilla
Preparing the dough: Place 1kg of flour, vinegar, vodka, salt, and 1 liter of water in the bowl and knead it for 30 minutes. Form the dough and let it rest for 20 minutes. Take it out, spread butter on it, fold it again, and put it in the refrigerator for 3 hours. Repeat this process two more times. Take the dough out, cut it into your preferred sizes, place it on a baking pan, and bake in the oven at 190 degrees.
Cream: Place 1 liter of water, 300 g of flour, and 400 g of sugar into the bowl. Mix them well together and then bring them to a boil. Whip 400 g of butter into the cooled mixture. Cut the baked Napoleon pieces in half and spread the cream on them. Add vanilla according to taste
